Chester & Surrounding Areas
At the base of Lassen Peak and nestled near the shores of Lake Almanor, the charming community of Chester is the main business hub for the Lake Almanor Basin. Nestled along the banks of the Feather River, Chester’s unique shops, parks, museums and library provide the back drop for many annual events, art shows, concerts and holiday celebrations.
Chester also hosts the Martin Ranch community which lies in a pristine meadow off Feather River Drive. Further up Feather River Drive, one comes to the Warner Valley which backs up to Lassen Volcanic National Park and the world famous Drakesbad Guest Ranch. Quaint summer homes dot the beautiful meadows and forest of Warner Valley.
East along Hwy 36, the main route through Chester, leads one through Tehama County on the way to the South entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Along the highway lie homes and cabins with views of majestic Butte and Carter Mountains and year round recreational opportunities. Along Highway 36 one comes to the St. Bernard lodge, a rustic Bed and Breakfast Inn and Tavern just 20 minutes outside of Lassen Volcanic National Park.
